Monthly Kaffeeklatsch, Thursday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m. in the Great Room of Evans Hall.

Mr. Curt Munson, Edmond Parks Foundation, will be our guest speaker at the September Kaffeeklatsch.  Next July (2018) the Edmond Parks Foundation will dedicate an original statue of Miss Ida Freeman to honor educators who have attended UCO going back to its status as the Oklahoma Normal School. The life-sized bronze will feature a likeness of Miss Ida Freeman reading to a boy and girl.  Mr. Munson will share information regarding the impact Miss Freeman had on our community during the many years she taught here and he will bring a maquette, or miniature of the final statue for us to see.  Please take advantage of this special opportunity to learn about the amazing pioneer woman, teacher and principal and about the bronze statue the City of Edmond and UCO will install to honor her legacy and our own.

EFA members will meet at the Edmond Historical Society Museum at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, September 14 for a special exhibit entitled “The Power of Children” which features the stories of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges and Ryan White and how they used the power of words, voice and action to make a positive difference in our world.  The Edmond Museum is the only one in the state selected to host this exhibit.  After the tour we will have lunch at Hideaway.
