Poster and Presentation Resources

Below are resources for poster creation for various conferences and events you might attend. If you have any questions, contact OHIP via email ( or (405)-974-5086.

General Resources

  • If your project is funded through grants from UCO (Office of High-Impact Practices, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, or the Center for Excellence in Transformative Teaching and Learning), an acknowledgement MUST appear on any poster, publications (including internet sites), performances, and presentations resulting from the funded project. For example, "This project is based on work supported by a grant from the Office of High-Impact Practices, University of Central Oklahoma."

  • Poster printing is available in each college at no cost to students. Please contact the Dean's Office of your college for more information. Printing takes a week to ten days, be sure to plan ample time for printing.
  • EDIT, EDIT, EDIT. Have someone not associated with your project read your poster for clarification.

  • Academic Poster Design Advice (A selection of resources from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill on designing and presenting academic posters.)

  • A variety of poster templates and examples are available on the web. A good selection of both can be found with UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Maryland.

UCO Logos

The UCO logo needs to be in a prominent location on your poster; preferably at the top banner near your title. The logos can be found here

Oklahoma Research Day

Every presenter at Oklahoma Research Day is required to have a poster presentation. Please ensure that your poster meets the guidelines set by Oklahoma Research Day organizers.

  • Posters cannot exceed 2,025 square inches (i.e., 45" Tall x 45" Wide).

  • Please correspond with the person who will be printing your poster before you begin creating it. Typically, poster printers use 42" paper and allow, excluding margins, for 41.6" of printable space. Although a 45" square poster is allowed, the poster printers at UCO may not be able to print that size of poster.

National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)

NCUR will have nine poster sessions over three days. Posters are paper presentations only and may not include exhibits of models or other objects and may not involve computer or tablet devices. Nor are any other electronic devices part of a poster presentation.

  • Each presenter is assigned one side -- measuring 46"w x40"h -- of a freestanding fabric display board.

  • Posters should measure 42";wide x 36"; tall. Please choose font style and size for the poster to be readable from at least three feet away.
  • Posters will be hung with Velcro only. Velcro dots will be supplied. Pins, clips, or any other method for hanging posters will not be allowed.
  • Presenters should arrive at least 15 minutes before their presentation time to find their assigned location and hang their posters.

  • NCUR reserves the right to cancel a presenter’s poster session if the above requirements are not met.
