Welcome to the Office of High-Impact Practices

OHIP offers exciting opportunities for students interested in undergraduate research experiences at UCO. We define research broadly, as faculty-mentored research, creative, and scholarly activities that make an intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.

Why should you participate in undergraduate research? There are many benefits to engaging in an undergraduate research, creative, or scholarly activity at UCO. Students gain a deeper understanding of their discipline, develop valuable research and problem solving skills, and build professional relationships with faculty and peers. Participation also can increase the likelihood a student will graduate on time and is good preparation for graduate school.

We offer many opportunities to help you get involved in research including

  • Research, Creative, and Scholarly Activity (RCSA) Grants
  • Undergraduate Research Abroad (URA) Grants
  • Central Undergraduate Research Board (CURB)
  • Student Travel Presentation Grants
  • Oklahoma Research Day
  • Research Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol
  • Posters on the Hill
  • National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
  • World Congress on Undergraduate Research (WCUR)
  • And additional scholarship/fellowship opportunities

Find out more about the opportunities using the navigation tools on this page, or email us at ohip@uco.edu to learn how you can join in the fun.
