Searching for External Grant Opportunities

Through the Chambers Library, UCO faculty and staff now have access to InfoEd Global SPIN, a comprehensive database containing over 40,000 funding opportunities from more than 10,000 federal and non-federal sponsors. You can access SPIN from any computer connected to the University’s network. On the library’s website, click on databases, and search for SPIN. Registered SPIN users can access SPIN off campus and over VPN.


SPIN is a comprehensive database of funding opportunities that allows users to:

  • Search for grant opportunities
  • Save searches
  • Receive funding alerts (SMARTS)
  • Share opportunities


To register for a SPIN Profile: SPIN

  • Click Sign In
  • Click Need to Create a New Profile?
  • Fill out all fields and register with your UCO email address.

A SPIN administrator approves profiles (allow up to one full business day). Once approved, you will receive an email with a link to set your password.

Grant Resource Center - GRC offers access to timely and actionable information on funding opportunities, provides personalized support to meet specific campus needs, and promotes networking among sponsored programs professionals. The ORSP is a member of the Grant Resource Center, a nonprofit services of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Contact the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs ( to be added to the Grant Announcements List.

Oklahoma State Regent for Higher Education – Find a variety of grant opportunity announcements provided by OSRHE's Grant Writing and External Funding Assistance.

The Foundation Center – The database allows users to find funding from private sources such as corporate and family foundations.  

The Foundation Directory – Grants, foundations, grant writing, private and public funding sources, philanthropy. Entries for 70,000 foundations and details on more than 150,000 grants. Sign in with your UCO credentials.

Federal Register – A daily publication including funding notices from the federal government.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance – Search the government-wide compendium of Federal programs, projects, services, and activities. You can use this search engine to identify opportunities that have been made available in previous years relating to your interests. The search engine provides contact information that can be used to inquire if the grant opportunity will be made available again.
