Who We Are
Upward Bound is a college-preparation program designed to encourage students to develop the academic skills and motivation necessary for success in post-secondary education. The program focuses on providing equal opportunity for:
Economically challenged students
Prospective first-generation college students
What We Do
The Upward Bound Program provides participants a strong curriculum, comprehensive and appropriate activities eleven months of the year. Once admitted to the program students may participate until they graduate from high school.

During students’ senior year they participate in a year long Bridge Program. Upon high school graduation selected students participate in the Summer Bridge Program where they attend regular university courses and have an opportunity to earn six credit hours.
Participants receive a small incentive stipend based on attendance and academic performance.

Attend one of our target schools: Capitol Hill High School, Crooked Oak High School or Star Spencer High School.
Meet low-income guidelines as determined by the U.S. Department of Education
Will be a First-generation graduate (neither father nor mother has graduated from a 4-year university)
Completed the 8th grade and is at least 14 years old
2.7 GPA or higher
Demonstrate academic need
