UCO Prepares for New FLSA Changes

UCO Human Resources has been tracking proposed modifications to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). We want to make sure you are aware of changes to the overtime eligibility rules, and how they will impact UCO.

To provide employees with information about the changes, and how they may affect you, Human Resources has prepared an overview,  frequently asked questions, and implementation plan, and additional information will be shared as implementation plans are finalized.

Information Sessions:

Several sessions will be offered in June and July to prepare affected UCO employees and their supervisors for the move from exempt to non-exempt employment status:

  • 2-4 p.m. June 16 in Room 102, Education (EDU);
  • 9-11 a.m. June 22 in Room 121, Business;
  • 2-4 p.m. June 28 in Room 102, EDU; and,
  • 10 a.m.-noon July 8 in Room 102, EDU.

It is highly recommended for all affected employees and their supervisors to attend one of these sessions so that important decisions may be made affecting future paychecks.

Pre-registration is not required. Each session will provide a brief overview of the final Department of Labor rules. The last half-hour of each session will be tailored for supervisors of non-exempt employees. A separate room will be available after each session for individual questions and answers.
