Office of Global Affairs

The University of Central Oklahoma as well as the Office of Global Affairs encourages the Edmond and Oklahoma Metro community to immerse themselves in the diverse range of international experiences and opportunities provided by UCO. Through these opportunities UCO and the OGA aim to connect the community with the international influence that has been established throughout campus.

International Festival: The annual International Festival, held in downtown Edmond, provides a unique experience where cultures from around the globe come together to celebrate their diversity. Previously known as the UCO International Festival, it has grown to encompass the city of Edmond, Oklahoma Christian University, and the World Affairs Council of Edmond as partners. During the festival, international students showcase countries, regions, and continents from around the world through culturally related food, traditional performances, and informational booths.

International House: The University of Central Oklahoma is proud to introduce a one-of-a-kind facility and resource in this region of the country - the UCO International House. The University of Central Oklahoma's International House will facilitate global engagement and intercultural proficiencies by bringing together Central's students, staff, faculty and community. Drawing upon its mission to catalyze transformative learning experiences, the house serves as a venue for the university and outside groups to host programs and events.

Community Responding to International Students Program (CRISP): CRISP is designed to bring international students together with American families.  Families from the Edmond/Oklahoma City area are paired with international students from the University of Central Oklahoma. The goal of CRISP is for the families and international students to spend time together at least once a month. This gives international students a firsthand experience of how an American family lives, and American families can learn about other cultures, and appreciate the diversity that is represented at UCO. Additionally, we would like to give international students the opportunity to experience the American lifestyle and the comforts of a family. CRISP families can spend time together through individually planned activities, or through one of the Centre for Global Competency's monthly CRISP events.
