britney rush exec photoBritney Rush- President

I am from Lawton, Oklahoma. I am a forensic science and criminal justice double with a minor in organizational leadership. Upon getting my degree, I hope to work for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as an agent or a crime scene technician.I enjoy being around my friends, having meaningful conversation, and eating a good home cooked meal any chance I get.

I am currently involved in many aspects on campus. I am on three executive boards. I serve as the

BronchoThon Vice President of Administration, Homecoming Activities Board Director of Traditions, and President of Leaders of Tomorrow. I am a Leadership Ambassador for UCO and teach leadership development to local middle schools. I am a part of the UCOSA President's Cabinet and serve as the philanthropy chair. And finally, I am a Residence Assistant in the University Suites.

Last year, I was fortunate to receive the Robert K. Greenleaf Service Award.

My favorite caffeinated beverage is a Caramel Macchiato, iced or hot depending on the season. Iron man is my favorite superhero, but my car is named Bruce after the alter ego of the Hulk because my car is so green. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and my Sundays are dedicated to football. I don't usually drink soda, but a good cream soda melts the stress away. And UCO was my first choice school and I love it more today than I did when I first stepped foot on campus.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?" -Marianne Williamson

mackenzie black exec photoMackenzie Black- Campus Involvement Chair

My name is MacKenzie Black and I am a sophomore here at UCO. I am from Choctaw, Oklahoma and I graduated from Choctaw High School in 2016. I am a Chemistry- Health Sciences major and I intend to graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma in May 2020. I love my degree because it is constantly challenging and pushing me to work harder.  After graduating from UCO, my dream is to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University and become a Doctor in Pharmacy.

On campus, I am primarily involved with the Leaders of Tomorrow. As Campus Involvement Chair, I was extremely busy organizing homecoming activities and choreographing the routine for Cheer and Dance. After coming in second in Cheer and Dance and winning homecoming for the Co-Ed organizations, it was apparent that all the time and hard work put into homecoming was well spent.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I come from a large family; therefore, I am very family oriented and enjoy to spend the majority of my time with them. I also am guilty of binge watching a variety of reality TV shows and any dramatic show that is on Netflix.

cara daniels exec photoCara Daniels- Outreach Chair

My name is Cara Daniels and I am the first ever and current Outreach Chair for the Leaders of Tomorrow Council. I have been an Okie all my life and I currently reside in Spencer, OK with my best friend and husband, Britton Daniels (who is also a UCO leadership student), and my dog, Jack.

I am pursuing my degree in Kinesiology and have plans to continue in pursuit of a graduate degree as well. My goal is to move to Florida where Britton and I can both enjoy our dreams and I can tackle the world of performance training at the national level. Currently, I am involved in the Exercise Science Club at UCO through which I have met many people with similar passions to my own.

Outside of UCO, I have the opportunity to volunteer at the OKC Zoo where I get to help take part in educating about all that the Zoo does for conservation. The rest of my obsessions, quirks, and fun come from Elvis Presley, Golden Girls, Castle (and many more crime tv shows), 50s-80s rock, Donald Duck (and all Disney), and Harry Potter (Yes, I am a Slytherin). For fun, I enjoy and spend lots of time weightlifting, reading and drawing, all of which relieve stress and keep me calm. I love UCO and being a part of leadership because it encourages me to be all that I am and do all that I can. I hope to instill and encourage the same in others. There are two quotes that together inspire and drive my life in the direction of my passions through servant leadership: “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” –unknown “...serve one another in love.” -Galatians 5:13
