My career goals are to be a corporate attorney and become an entrepreneur on the side as I gain capital. I am involved in President's Leadership Council as the Vice President, the External Vice President of Pi Kappa Alpha, Big Event, Little Event, UCOSA, UCO Soccer club team, and a former NBO leader! Salvador Arcivar
Salvador Arcivar is a senior this year pursuing a marketing degree with a minor in political science - international relations. Salvador has a passion for helping others and serving his community. He is involved in several on campus clubs and organizations. He serves as a Peer Mentor with the Hispanic Success Initiative (HSI), Student Ambassador through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and Intern with the Centre of Global Competency. This summer, Salvador was awarded a scholarship through the Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Scholarship Program where he is currently conducting research on the opportunity gap of students of color who seek to study abroad. His personal experience as a marginalized student who continues to overcome adversity fuels his passion to bridge the gap for underrepresented students. Salvador hopes PLC will give him the tools and resources to strengthen the advocacy work for his platform. Lastly, Salvador had what he considers a once in a life-time opportunity to study abroad in South Korea. He is currently working under the Office of Global Affairs on creating an online module that will help students navigate through the study abroad process in an intentional effort to facilitate intercultural learning through their experience.

"UCO is not a research college, which means that the professors have time and are willing to work with students on independent research projects, conferences, and mentoring. UCO is a fantastic place to learn and grow!"

"One day everything kind of fell into place, a sort of rough draft as to what my future could look like. One of the main reasons UCO caught my attention was the diversity, and at the end of the Forensic Institute's tour I knew I wanted to see myself studying there in the near future. I chose UCO because I felt like I belonged and that being different was something I didn't have to be afraid of."

Juan Estrada

I’m Juan Estrada and I am the incoming student representative for PLC. I am a sophomore studying psychology, and I am originally from Guymon, OK. With my degree I plan on becoming a counselor working with children and adolescents. I am involved with PLC, Pi Kappa Alpha, BronchoThon, and I am also an Orientation Leader and an RA in the quad. Being involved has made my time at Central so fun and rewarding and has opened so many doors of opportunities. Being in PLC has been such an amazing opportunity and I am so grateful. Here are some fun facts about me! I was a professional Mexican Folkloric dancer for four years in high school. I once almost chopped my finger off with a can of pineapples. Favorite quote “Lead Simply”.

"I chose UCO because I feel like your not just a number here (as cheesy as that sounds). From the first day of walking on campus I knew that I could see myself not only getting my degree, but also getting involved with diverse organizations and new, exciting projects. I can't wait to see what all UCO has to offer!"
Marcia Clemmons

"I chose to be a Broncho because of the role it has played in my family's legacy, my mother and three older siblings all attended UCO. I also chose to attend Central because of the experience I received attending a private Christian college for my concurrent studies in High School and chose the open and diverse atmosphere."
Leila Mazkoori
"It is really easy to make connections and find people who want to support your future career. UCO is also the most welcoming university in my opinion so it was also really easy to make life long friends. PLC is special to me because they acted as a motivation to improve some of the problems or just characteristics that I didn't like about myself. I felt like with their guidance I could become the person I wanted to be and strive for the goals I wanted without fear. They have watched me fail, but they have also been there to help me get back up, brush myself off, and go for my goals again. This is an organization that will not ridicule you for making mistakes, and to me that made my transition smoother having them in my life."
