Major: Economics

Interests: My passion is to positively impact the people around me and the community at large.

Involvements: President's Leadership Council and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry

"UCOLA is all about engaging and equipping young students to be leaders in their families, schools and communities. People don't expect greatness from a 9th grader. We're changing the expectations."

He is a Spring 2015 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. byway the Zeta Sigma Chapter, where he currently holds the position as Chapter President and the Assistant Area Director for the state of Oklahoma. Donovan’s other involvements on campus include being a part of the National Society of Black Engineers, NAACP, Student Ambassador, Off Campus Life Ambassador, and Black Student Association. Donovan's philosophy of life is to create better perspectives and new opportunities for African American men.

“UCOLA is so great because it allows me to develop, motivate, and push leaders early in high school years. This is something that is dear to me considering that when I was in high school, I was so eager to expand my leadership skills and abilities.”

Sabrina Bermudez, Director of Curriculum

Hometown: Del City, Oklahoma

High School: Del City High School

Classification: Senior

Major: Economics

Interests: My favorite thing to do is read (pretty much any genre) and I hope to one day be a published author. I love dogs, baking sweet treats, and going to movies or concerts with my best friends. I also sometimes think that I’d be great at interior decorating because of how much HGTV I watch at home.

Involvements: Leaders of Tomorrow

“UCOLA has my heart because there are so few organizations that value young leaders like this one does. Ninth grade students shape the way their high schools look for the next four years and are capable of impacting their communities and organizations in the most unique of ways.”

Destiny Henry, Assistant Director of Curriculum

Hometown: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

High School: Putnam City High School

Classification: Sophomore

Major: Family Life Education with a focus on Marriage

Involvements: President’s Leadership Council and Peer Health Leaders

"UCOLA is an event that teaches young students that leadership and college are both obtainable. I am excited to teach and learn from the incoming freshmen this year!"
