The Department of Curriculum and Instruction consists of fourteen full-time faculty members. Faculty members in the department are experienced classroom teachers who continue to engage with teachers and students in school classrooms. All programs are nationally recognized by the respective Specialized Professional Associations through the NCATE accreditation process.

First-year students pursuing a career in education will find that the Future Educators Living Learning Community is an important connection to faculty and peers who are passionate about shaping the minds of the future. This community helps its members prepare for a career in education. Students in this community live on campus with other education majors; network with upper-division students through the Prospective Teacher Connection, and enroll in a section of UNIV 1012: Success Central specifically for education majors.
