Dr. Scott Singleton - Program Coordinator

Scott Singleton, Psy.D (Southern California University for Professional Studies, 2006) has been a full-time member of the Department of Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) since 2011. Prior to his full-time appointment to UCO, he served as an adjunct professor for the School Psychology programs at UCO and Oklahoma State University. Dr. Singleton began his career as a school psychologist working for districts in Oregon, California, and Oklahoma. His final position, prior to joining the faculty at UCO, was as the Response to Intervention Coordinator for Edmond Public Schools. He also worked as a literacy interventionist in Las Vegas, and provided behavior support for Las Vegas Head Start. 

Dr. Singleton’s doctoral training is in clinical psychology, while he also received an Ed.S. in school psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Dr. Singleton has received school psychology credentials in Nevada, California, and Oklahoma. He received certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), as well as board certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Dr. Singleton is also a licensed in the state of Oklahoma as a Behavior Analyst (#1-09-5038). His primary teaching responsibilities at UCO are in the Applied Behavior Analysis and School Psychology programs.

Dr. Singleton’s professional and research interests include Response to Intervention (RtI), positive behavior support, functional behavioral assessment, literacy intervention and the measurement of treatment outcomes.

Dr. Singleton has served as an officer are the Oklahoma School Psychological Association (OSPA), Kern Association of School Psychologists (KASP; president), and the Frazier Park Community Mental Health Advisory Committee. Dr. Singleton also served as President of OSPA in 2009, served on the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Learning Disabilities Policy and Procedures Group in 2007, and the Response to Intervention stakeholders group in 2009. Currently, he is the Clinical Director for the Good Shepherd School at Mercy and coordinator of the UCO BCBA course sequence.
