General Information

Dr. Susan E. Benson is an Assistant Professor, and current holder of the Inez Miller Endowed Chair, in the Speech Language Pathology Program, Donna Nigh Department of Advanced Professional and Special Services, College of Education at the University of Central Oklahoma. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a Speech- Language Pathologist employed by the Edmond Public Schools. Additionally, she served for 15 years as Director of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders’ John W. Keys Language Enrichment and Pre-kindergarten Success Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She has taught coursework in language development and language disorders at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.  Her research interests include the development of oral narratives in young children and the use of technology in early intervention programs for children with delayed communication development.
