Dr. Bob Brennan

I am currently an Associate Professor and the Interim Chair of the Biology Department. I was born and raised in
Emmetsburg, Iowa, which is a small farming community in northwest Iowa. I am one of five children. My
father was a carpenter and my mother worked as a nurse at the county hospital. I attended the University of
South Dakota where I played football and received a B.S. in Biology. I earned my M.S. in Veterinary Medical
Sciences (Microbiology) from Louisiana State University and my Ph.D. in Medical Sciences (Microbiology) Texas
A&M Health Sciences Center.  Prior to coming to UCO in 2009, I worked at 3M as a Microbiology Specialist in their
Medical Division. My wife Martha is the Head Women’s Track Coach at UCO.  We have four daughters; Grace,
Eve, Ivy, Bella.
