Dr. Paul Stone

Picture of Paul and Marie Stone

I am a Professor in the Department of Biology. I was born in Henderson, Kentucky,
but raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I developed an interest in herpetology at a young age.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1995, just prior to accepting a faculty position at UCO.
My dissertation research was on sexual selection in Galapagos lava lizards. My wife Marie and I
are the senior researchers of a long-term study, initiated in 1994, on the ecology of Sonoran mud turtles
(Kinosternon sonoriense) in the Peloncillo Mountains, New Mexico.
