Submission Guidelines:

The Central Dissent is currently accepting submissions for the inaugural Fall 2017 issue. We are looking for high quality research, scholarly reviews, and poetry pertaining to gender and sexuality studies. We will be accepting works from both graduate students and undergraduate students. Works may be submitted at central.dissent@gmail.com.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions made to the Central Dissent must not be published or under review by any other publication.
  • No more than one work per author will be considered for publication.
  • By submitting a work an author agrees to the following:
    • The submission does not infringe on any existing copyright.
    • The submission must not have been published in any other publication, in part or in whole, and is not currently under consideration by any other publication.
    • Any experimental research was performed with the approval of an appropriate ethics committee.
    • Research conducted on human subjects is in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration.
    • Research conducted on animals is in compliance with internationally recognized guidelines.

Submissions that are selected by the staff will be reviewed for formatting errors as well as spelling, grammar, and other errors then sent back to the author for corrections. After making corrections, the author will re-submit their edited work for further review and subsequent publication.

FORMATTING:

Formatting will vary by discipline. Generally speaking formatting is as follows:

  • MLA: English, Humanities
  • APA: Psychology, Social Sciences
  • Chicago/Turabian: Business, History, Fine Arts
  • CSE: Biology and Science
  • IEEE: Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology

Submissions are not currently held to any restrictions or limits on length. However, it is expected that authors be clear and concise within their writing.
