Placement Study Guides

ACCUPLACER

In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, we no longer have printed study guides available. The links below, however, are in a printable format:

A free study app for the ACCUPLACER has been developed by the College Board. It is intended to familiarize you with the basic content areas of the ACCUPLACER test. We recommend all students taking the English or Reading exams take advantage of this useful tool.

* You may also find ACT or SAT review books helpful in preparing for the ACCUPLACER. These resources are available at most public libraries.

ALEKS

In order to access study modules for the ALEKS math exam, you will first need to complete an un-proctored practice exam. Scores received for an un-proctored exam will not count toward satisfying remediation requirements.

You must take one un-proctored practice exam before you take an actual proctored exam with Testing Services at UCO.

You may take your un-proctored attempt below. Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the practice exam and access study modules before taking an official exam.

You will need to know your UCONNECT username and password that you received in your admission letter email in order to login below. If you do not remember, please contact the IT support desk (email: support@uco.edu, phone: 405-974-2255).

Future Adult, Transfer, or Appeals students relying on Placement Scores for admissions purposes:

Students that are required to take placement exams for admissions purposes must pass the ACCUPLACER English/Reading exams in order to be admitted.

Once admitted, you will need to return to complete your ALEKS Math placement exam. The reason for this is that you will need UCONNECT credentials in order access the un-proctored exam, study modules, and official proctored exam, but you cannot be given credentials until you are admitted.

If you are not sure if this applies to you, please contact the UCO Office of Admissions, 405-974-2727.

Special Accommodations:

The University of Central Oklahoma complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act of 1990. Students with disabilities who need special accommodations must make their request by contacting Disability Support Services (DSS), 405-974-2516. DSS is located in the Nigh University Center, Room 309.

Once accommodations have been approved, you must contact Testing Services to make arrangements for testing. Do not attempt to access study materials for ALEKS or register until you have spoken with Testing Services.
