For out-of-state students that are unable to take placement exams on campus, remote proctoring is available. UCO has partnered with ProctorU, a virtual proctoring company, which allows students to take their placement exams on their personal home computers/laptops which have functional web cameras.
ProctorU is not a free service. You are responsible for any fees charged by the company. If you are taking both ACCUPLACER and ALEKS, you will be charged separately since they are considered two different exams.
You must submit a request via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your:
UCO Student ID number
Request for remote proctoring
Testing Services will then send a form that must be completed, returned, and approved before you make arrangements with ProctorU. Once approval has been made, you may navigate ProctorU below. You will need to create an account in order to take the exam. ProctorU requires 72 hours notice for an appointment.
Technical Requirements: please see a complete list of ProctorU's technical requirements before you make an attempt to schedule. Please note at this time, they do not support:
Android tablets (Nexus 7, etc.)
iOS tablets (iPad, iPad mini, etc.)
Linux operating systems
Microsoft Windows 10 S
Microsoft Surface RT
Note: They do not proctor computers running within virtual machines. If you are running within a virtual machine when you connect with ProctorU, you will be asked to exit your virtual machine and reconnect using your host operating system to take your test.
Note: They do not support development previews, beta builds, or release candidates of any operating system unless specified.
