Who qualifies to use the Pantry?

The Central Pantry is intended to be used by students, faculty and staff members who meet the Gross Income Limits set forth by the Oklahoma Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). These limits are found by calculating 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. For a full speadsheet of these guidelines, click here.

How often can a client use the Pantry? 

Once per week

Is the Central Pantry open to the public? 

No, unfortunately the Central Pantry does not currently have the resources to serve those outside the UCO community. 

When did the Pantry Open?

The Pantry held its Grand Opening on November 17, 2012. It continues to be open from 9 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday.

Where is the Pantry located?

The Pantry is located in the Nigh University Center, Room 203. If there is not a volunteer available in the Pantry, visit the VSLC in the Nigh University Center, Room 212 for assistance.

Why was the Pantry opened in the first place?

As we at the VSLC spoke with food pantries throughout the OKC community, they informed us of the high number of UCO students who utilized their services. In response to this need, the VSLC partnered with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to open the first collegiate food pantry in the state of Oklahoma.

Does the Pantry take Donations?

Donations to the pantry are always welcome. All non-perishable food items are accepted. The Central Pantry also holds themed food drives throughout the year which call for specific items to be donated. These are typically items that the Pantry is low on. Are there any volunteer opportunities at the Pantry?

We are continually attempting to fully staff the Central Pantry for the 35 hours a week that it is open. Volunteer questions may be directed to the VSLC.
