Office of Diversity and Inclusion - a Division of Student Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma

Student Alliance for Equality (S.A.F.E.)

The Student Alliance for Equality (SAFE) has provided support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, queer, and questioning students, faculty, staff members, alumni, and our allies at the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as for members of the surrounding communities, since 1989.

SAFE hosts social, educational, and outreach programs that promote inclusion and respect for diversity for the entire community, and we advocate for initiatives and services to support LGBTQIA+ Oklahomans, on campus and throughout our region.

SAFE is a member organization of UCO’s Diversity Round Table, sponsors the UCO Safe-Zone Ally Program, is a co-sponsor of the annual Edmond Pride celebration in October, and collaborates with community partners on a variety of initiatives and programs.
