Fraternity and Sorority Life Assessment and Awards

Established in August 2016, the Fraternity and Sorority Life Community Standards Program seeks to improve the operations and quality of Central’s fraternity and sororities. The program outlines a clear and comprehensive set of standards each chapter must attain to maintain recognition through the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. In addition, the program provides an annual evaluation tool chapters can utilize for self-evaluation and community recognition.  You can view the program outline and standards HERE.

Each Spring, the achievements of fraternity and sorority members, chapters, advisors, and alumni/ae are celebrated at our annual Awards Ceremony. This event is the culmination to the events of the previous calendar year and it's a time to celebrate the successes of the Greek Community. Awards are given for a variety of academic, philanthropic, leadership and other achievements.  The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life now accepts nominations, individual applications, and chapter applications via OrgSync.

UCO Fraternity and Sorority Leaders Recognized for Accomplishments

The University of Central Oklahoma recently recognized the accomplishments of its fraternities and sororities during its annual Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards Banquet.  The program is designed to celebrate their shared values of brotherhood and sisterhood through the recognition of undergraduate leaders, alumni members, and chapters. These awards focus on consistent efforts to promote lifelong learning, empower personal growth, inspire intellectual development, cultivate leadership, and encourage philanthropy and service.

“We believe it’s important to recognize our students and chapter who go above and beyond our expectations, especially when it pertains to community service, philanthropic fundraising, and overall contributions to the campus community,” said Jacob Tidwell, assistant director of student engagement. “Nationally, the fraternity and sorority community is often in the spotlight for poor behavior or something negative.  This program allows us to shine a light on the great things they do for our campus and the local community.”
