How to Form or Renew a Student Organization

Central has many organizations to offer, but if we don't offer one you'd like to see on campus, you can form your own. If you have any questions, contact the Student Organizations Office at studentorgs@uco.edu or 974-2625.

In order to form a Student Organization, you need:

  1. Student Members-At least five (5) enrolled students--two of them are officers and the other three are members.

  2. Advisor-A UCO faculty or staff member to serve as an advisor.

  3. Constitution-A current constitution and/or bylaws to upload on the website.  You can find a sample constitution here.

  4. OrgSync Profile-Once you have all the above information, click here to create your organization on OrgSync.

  5. Org Leader and Advisor Training-The President, Vice President, or Treasurer AND the Advisor of every student organization must attend an Organization Registration/Renewal Training for their OrgSync profile to be turned to active.  These take place during the renewal period and once a month during the school year.  The dates of these trainings can be found here.

After these steps are complete, your organization will be approved on OrgSync and considered active.

In order to renew a Student Organization, you need:

Each year, every student organization at UCO must renew their organization to become active on campus for the current academic year. The following steps must be completed for an organization to be considered active on campus:

  1. Updated OrgSync Profile-This is done by clicking on the orange bar on your page and updating the necessary information.  After you submit it online, your officers and advisor will be sent a message to approve the information.  Once you have completed all parts of the renewal process, this profile will be turned to active.

  2. Updated and Currently Dated Constitution-Constitutions must be updated every three years in OrgSync.  If your current Constitution is dated for before 2015, you must upload a current document before being approved.

If you have any questions, contact the Student Organizations Office at studentorgs@uco.edu or 974-2625.
