Instructional Programs

Instructional programs are non-credit fitness classes that provide personal enrichment, training and skill building and are intensive in nature.  The instructors are certified within their discipline and have many years of experience teaching.

Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is a form of martial arts that works to develop efficient, flowing and circular movements for defense. Participants will learn complete body control, defense against multiple attackers and how to use joint locks, throws and submission techniques to neutralize an opponent.

Days/Times: Fridays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Program dates: April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29

Location: Wellness Center, Room 134

Instructor: Abdalla Khalid, 3rd Degree Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu

Strengthen, Affirm and Stretch in this workout that feels good to the body! You will strengthen every major muscle group using a variety of resistance tools (i.e. balls, bands, weights, your own body weight) in a positive environment that helps you connect the mind and body via affirmations, awareness and stretching utilizing Yoga/Pilates and mind-body relaxation tools. Experience fitness in a way that will make crave more!

Days/Times: Wednesdays, Noon-12:45 p.m.

Program dates: May 11, May 18, May 25, June 1
