 great colleges

The Chronicle of Higher Education named the University of Central Oklahoma as one of the “2015 Great Colleges to Work For.” Central is the only higher education institution in the state recognized on the list, and one of only a handful of institutions in the nation given the distinction of being named to the “Honor Roll” for being cited most often among all the recognition categories.

Central joins Duke and Baylor on the list of the ten universities named to the large institution honor roll.

Top Places to Work in 2015

For the third year running, The Oklahoman has named Central one of the state's "Top Workplaces." Central ranked No. 12 in the newspaper’s large business (350+ employees) category and was the only university included in the list. Because UCO received a "Leadership Award," the newspaper also interviewed President Betz. Read his comments.

Employees taking the survey were asked to grade their workplaces in areas such as the employer's direction, connection and execution, as well as their own feelings about their work, manager and pay and benefits.

Among the questions were if the company was going in the right direction; if the employee has confidence in the leader; how confident the employee is about his or her future at the company; and whether new ideas are encouraged at the workplace. Employees were also asked about training, work-life balance and compensation.
