General Information

Dr. Scott began her career at Choctaw Nicoma Park school district as a 5th and 6th grade teacher for eight years. She then served as an adjunct at Rose State College in the social science department teaching General Psychology and Educational Planning. In 1992 she started supervising student teachers at the University of Central Oklahoma and teaching a few courses as adjunct. In 1995 she began to pursue her doctorate at Oklahoma State University and was hired at UCO in 1998 after completing her program.

During her tenure in the College of Education and Professional Studies she has written multiple grants through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education's Oklahoma Teacher Connection. The grants provided her the opportunity to work with high school students interested in becoming teachers and being successful in college.

Dr. Scott has a high passion for service learning. She and her co-faculty Dr. Jennifer Endicott have incorporated several service learning projects in their course Foundations of American Education.

Dr. Scott is also the student sponsor for Students of Oklahoma Education Association and the American Democracy Project.
